It has some great views and not too strenuous but some uphill climb. John’s Mountain is located near Villanow, Georgia and is part of the Armuchee Ridges. The hike will involve a climb of about 800 feet over a distance of about 2 miles. On the way up we’ll stop for a break at Keown Falls. The trail then moves on to the top of John’s Mountain and where there is a great view and a large observation deck. We’ll stop for lunch and then do a loop hike of the ridge which will put us back at KeownFalls where we can make our descent back to the trailhead.
Things to bring:
– 1-1.5 liters of water
– Good hiking shoes or boots
– Layered clothing
– Hat and maybe gloves
– Lunch or snack.
– Camera (optional)
– Mask
– $ 15 for carpool driver
