 \n\nHike Leader: Peter de Lastic \n\nStart the New Year off right with a h
 ike. We are even starting later so you can get some extra sleep after the 
 New Years festivities. Many people have walked up the main walk-up trail t
 o the top of Stone Mountain but not many have walked the trail through the
  woods\, around the lakes and around the side of the mountain. This is whe
 re the Cherokee Trail will take you and it's a great opportunity to see pa
 rts of Stone Mountain park that you may not have seen before. The hike is 
 about 6.5 miles long and will take about 3 hours to complete. It maybe 1
  mile longer if we decide to include the walk up trail to the top of the m
 ountain.\n\nThings to bring:\n\nGood tennis shoes\, hking shoes or boots\n
 \n1 - 1.5 litres of water\n\nSnacks\, packed lunch\n\nLayered clothing\n\
 nSmall backback or waistpack (to carry above items)\n\nCamera (optional)
