  MOUNTAIN RECREATION AREA is located in northern Floyd County\, near Rome\
 , Georgia\, on 5\,000 acres owned by Oglethorpe Power Corporation.\nThe ar
 ea includes two recreation lakes totaling 559 acres. Largemouth bass and s
 unfish are the most common game fish in the lakes\; however\, channel catf
 ish\, walleye\, black crappie\, and hybrid white-striped bass are also pre
 sent. Whitetail deer\, turkey\, and waterfowl frequent the area providing 
 visitors an opportunity to hunt or observe wildlife in a natural setting. 
 The lakes\, with a backdrop of\nforested ridge lines and Rock Mountain off
 er visitors a scenic and relaxed setting in which to enjoy fishing\, hunti
 ng\, picnicking\, hiking\, camping\, and other outdoor activities.\n\nHIKI
 NG/BIKING\nTrail use is restricted to pedestrians and designated bike trai
 ls during day use only. Most trails on the area are through hikes requirin
 g a vehicle at departure and destination trail heads.  Foot/bike traffic 
 is allowed inside this\ngate anytime between the posted area opening and c
 losing times. Pedestrian/bicycle traffic is allowed on most roads and trai
 ls from sunrise to sunset daily. Trail heads are located along Mountain Vi
 ew Drive\, Angler’s Haven Drive\, and at the Fouche Gap hunter access.\n
 \nOptional: On our return back home\, we may stop at Berry College\, Rome
