 ld that preserves a Civil War battleground of the Atlanta Campaign. Opposi
 ng forces maneuvered and fought here from June 19\, 1864 until July 2\, 18
 64. Although most famous as a Civil War battlefield\, Kennesaw Mountain ha
 s a much richer story.\n\nThere is a fairly steep climb to the top of Kenn
 esaw Mtn at the beginning of the hike and also a smaller climb up Little K
 ennesaw Mtn partway through the hike. Rest of the trail is mostly downhill
  or flat. Some parts of the trail can be narrow or washed out. There are g
 reat scenic views and interesting rock formations on this hike.\n\nWe will
  be hiking a 5.5 miles loop from the Visitor Center to Pigeon Hill.\n\nThi
