 Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is a 2\,923 acre National Batt
 lefield that preserves a Civil War battleground of the Atlanta Campaign. O
 pposing forces maneuvered and fought here from June 19\, 1864 until July 2
 \, 1864. Although most famous as a Civil War battlefield\, Kennesaw Mounta
 in has a much richer story.\n\nThis is a great beginners hike which is clo
 se to Atlanta. There is a fairly steep climb to the top of Kennesaw Mtn at
  the beginning of the hike and also a smaller climb up Little Kennesaw Mtn
  partway through the hike. Rest of the trail is mostly downhill or flat. T
 here are great scenic views and interesting rock formations on this hike.\
 n\nWe will be hiking a 5.5 miles loop from the Visitor Center to Pigeon Hi
 ll. After the hike we will spend some time at the Visitor Center.\n\nThing

 iters)\n- Hiking Shoes / Sneakers / Tennis Shoes\n\nIf we have time after
