 il War battleground of the Atlanta Campaign. Opposing forces maneuvered an
 d fought here from June 19\, 1864 until July 2\, 1864. Although most famou
 s as a Civil War battlefield\, Kennesaw Mountain has a much richer story.\
 n\nWe will be hiking a 5.5 miles loop from the Visitor Center to Pigeon Hi
 ll. After the hike we will spend a little time touring the Visitor Center.
