 ark is a 2\,923 acre National Battlefield that preserves a Civil War battl
 eground of the Atlanta Campaign. Opposing forces maneuvered and fought her
 e from June 19\, 1864 until July 2\, 1864. Although most famous as a Civil
  War battlefield\, Kennesaw Mountain has a much richer story.\n\nThere is 
 a fairly steep climb to the top of Kennesaw Mtn at the beginning of the hi
 ke and also a smaller climb up Little Kennesaw Mtn partway through the hik
 e. Rest of the trail is mostly downhill or flat. Some parts of the trail c
 an be narrow or washed out. There are great scenic views and interesting r
 ock formations on this hike.\n\nWe will be hiking a 5.5 miles loop from th
 e Visitor Center to Pigeon Hill.\n\nThings to bring:\n- Backpack / Day Pac
