 ote this is D3-D4 level hike due to distance and elevation changes. The ho
 t summer temperature and humidity also makes it challenging. It is not sui
 table for young children. It is also mountainous and prone to thunderstorm
 s.\n\nThree Forks is the confluence of Holcomb Creek\, Overflow Creek and 
 Big Creek to form the West Fork of the Chattooga River. The three creeks a
 nd the West Fork are part of the Chattooga Wild and Scenic River\, the onl
 y area in Georgia with this designation. The trail to Three Forks is throu
 gh dense forests and although it is steep the last half mile of three-plus
  miles on an old logging road\, it is well used and easy to walk. The area
  is remote\, beautiful\, very impressive and well worth the trip.\n\nThe t
 rail first will take us to the Three Forks cascades where we will have lun
 ch. On our return we will take a 2 mile detours to the 15 foot rugged Over
 flow Falls\, with a huge swimming hole beneath.\n\nRequired Items to Bri
 ng:\n-daypack\n-hiking boots/river shoes or strong tennis shoes. No flip f
 lops or sandals.\n-lunch\n-high fuel trail snacks\n-plenty of water or spo
 rt drink 1.5-2.0 liters\n-camera (optional)\n-bathing suit (if you want to
  get wet in the pools and rivers)\, towel
