  the front porch of the park Visitor Center\, turns north  crosses Lodge 
 Road and then makes loop through some of the most beautiful areas of the p
 ark. The loop portion follows the lakeshore for approximately half its len
 gth. Completion of the loop brings the hiker back to the same route to the
  front porch. This trail is named after one of several homesteads which we
 re once located in the loop portion. Trail is blazed yellow.\n\nThis is a 
 good beginners hike. We will hike the trail and then stop at the beach are
