 near the Cohutta Wilderness leads visitors to this mountain getaway. Hiker
 s\, mountain bikers and horseback riders will find some of the most beauti
 ful trails in Georgia\, winding through hardwood forest and blueberry thic
 kets\, crossing streams and circling a pretty lake. Hikers can also explor
 e a stone fire tower built by the Civilian Conservation Corps and an ancie
 nt rock wall which stand on the highest point of the mountain. The mysteri
 ous 855-foot-long wall is thought to have been built by early Indians as f
 ortification against more hostile Indians or for ancient ceremonies.\n\nTh
 e Gahuti Trail travels around the edge of the park\, passing just below th
 e summits of both Cohutta and Fort mountains. Ever changing\, the trail is
  both beautiful and challenging in all seasons. Hikers should always be aw
 are of changing weather.\n\nRequired Items to Bring:\n- Water 2 liters\n- 
 Trail snacks\n- Lunch\n- Good hiking boots/shoes/hat.\n\nRecommended Items
  to Bring:\n- Daypack\n- Hiking stick\n- Camera\n\nWe are creating a fund 
 for the hiking group. This is to help compensate drivers if they should ex
 perience damage to their vehicles while driving or incur any fines for roa
 d violations or parking. We ask that every person hiking gives a $1 donati
 on each time they hike\, which will be collected when you sign the waiver 
 document when you arrive. This money is separate from what you pay the dri
 ver for gas costs.\n\n&nbsp\;
