 ostly follows the shoreline of Allatoona Lake offering the hiker scenic vi
 ews of Allatoona Lake. There are some bluebird boxes and down trees which 
 is an excellent habitat for wildlife. If you look closely and are quiet yo
 u might see some bluebirds and other wildlife while walking the trail. Thi
 s trail consists of hills and the forest has mixed pine and hardwoods.\n\n
 Cooper’s Furnace Trail\nThe Cooper’s Furnace Trail follows the route o
 f a 19th Century mining railroad through a mixed pine and hardwood forest.
  The forest has a rich variety of trees\, shrubs\, wildflowers\, and an ab
 undance of wildlife. A beaver and a muskrat inhabit the pond at the end of
  the trail.\n\nLaurel Ridge Trail\nThe Laurel Ridge Trail crosses the slop
 es of mixed a pine and hardwood covered ridge overlooking the Etowah River
  Valley. Theses slopes are graced by a variety of trees\, shrubs\, and wil
 dflowers. Wildlife and breathtaking Blue Ridge vistas are common to this t
 rail. You will be able to access the Pine Mountain Recreation Area from th
 is trail. Pine Mountain Recreation Area is managed and maintained by Carte
 rsville Parks and Recreation.\n\nAllatoona Dam\, the Cooper’s Furnace hi
 storic area and Allatoona Lake. Wildlife which may be encountered includes
  deer\, turkey\, fox\, bobcat\, squirrel\, and rabbit. Birds frequently se
 en are hawks\, blue jays\, songbirds\, and crows. Occasionally\, a Bald Ea
 gle may even be spotted along the river.\n\nThings to bring: - Lunch or sn
