 ers: 15\n\nHere's your opportunity to hike a part of the historic Appalach
 ian Trail. Please note this is NOT a beginners hike. This section of the t
 rail has a lot of up and down elevation changes. You should only hike it i
 f you have had experience hiking with us before and have a fairly good fit
 ness level.\n\nWe will be hiking the section of Hightower Gap to Gooch Gap
 . This is a distance of about 8.2 miles. Although this is a tough section 
 of the trail it has some great scenic views. We will need to shuttle cars 
 between the two locations so please be prepared for a wait at either end a
 s we drop and pick up cars.\n\nThis hike is part of Section 2 of the Appal
 achian Trail. Please note the elevation profile so that you can observe th
 at this is a fairly difficult hike.\n\nThe highest elevation on the hike i
 s Sassafras Mtn\, which tops out at about 3400 feet. The climb from Horse 
 Gap to Sassafras Mtn is about 700 feet which is about the height of Stone 
 Mountain so it should be doable for most people who have hiked with us bef
 ore.\n\nHowever there are several other smaller peaks and valleys which wi
 ll add to the difficulty of the hike.\n\nPlease wear good hiking shoes or 
 boots for this trail. Bring the usual packed\, lunch\, snacks and wear lay
 ered clothing.\n\n
