We will drive north to Bell Mountain, walk up several stairs and rock boulders and enjoy the stunning views of Hiawassee and Lake Chatuge.

Hike: Beautiful Brasstown Bald, rising 4,784 feet above sea level, is Georgia’s highest mountain.  On clear days, the spectacular 360-degree view from atop the mountain allows you to see four states, including Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. The Visitor Information Center, located on the summit of the Bald, offers exhibits, video presentations and interpretive programs.

We will start our hike by driving to the main parking lot at Brasstown Bald and take the ½ mile trail to the top of the mountain.  It is a fairly steep climb of 425 feet but the view is worth it.

Georgia Mountain Falconry: You’ll get the chance to view owls, hawks, and falcons, all while learning how these majestic animals help our ecosystem and the food chain in the wild. Georgia Mountain’s Master Falconers will share their experience working with their raptors, offering us a glimpse into the unique relationship between falconer and falcon. They will also be showing a special video-aided presentation inside the Mountaintop Theater. Presentation times for this show is at 2:00 pm

Drive and Overlooks: After the hike, we will take a scenic drive and overlooks in North Central GA
